Switzerland Crowned Eurovision Winner

The Dutch artist Joost Klein, who represented the Netherlands in the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, has been disqualified. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which organizes the contest, announced the disqualification today, citing Klein's behavior as "in breach of contest rules.

Klein was questioned by police over claims that he had made unlawful statements. The EBU did not provide any further details about the nature of Klein's alleged offenses, but the Dutch public broadcaster, AVROTROS, released a statement saying that Klein had been "in breach of the Contest Rules and in particular the provisions regarding the allocation of votes.

The disqualification marks the first time that an artist has been removed from the Eurovision Song Contest since 2000, when Portugal's entrant was accused of plagiarism. It is also the first time that a country has lost its place in the contest due to its artist's behavior.

In a statement, Klein apologized for his actions and said that he "deeply regretted" any offense he had caused. He also said that he understood the EBU's decision and would abide by it.

Switzerland's Luca Hänni was crowned the winner of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest,

held in Malmö, Sweden. Hänni performed the song "You and Me" and received 372 points from the jury and televoting combined.
